Senior Credit Analyst - WKV & WKV Banking / Long Term Underwriting

As a Senior Credit Analyst, you will play a key role in assessing complex credit risks and driving high-quality underwriting decisions for the German market.

Your role

 

As a Senior Credit Analyst, your main responsibilities will involve:

  • Independently analyze financial statements, business performance, and risk profiles of domestic and international corporate clients
  • Assess transaction, counterparty, and group risks at both national and international level
  • Make independent credit decisions within delegated authority and prepare recommendations for higher-level approvals
  • Lead discussions on complex risk cases and provide expert recommendations
  • Monitor credit portfolios and proactively identify risk mitigation opportunities
  • Serve as a key contact point between Bratislava and German Credit Analysis teams
  • Build relationships with brokers, policyholders, and internal stakeholders and confidently defend credit decisions
  • Support less experienced team members through knowledge sharing and coaching
  • Drive process optimization initiatives and participate in international projects
  • Contribute to the development of underwriting and risk assessment practices

Your Skills and Experience

 

As a Senior Credit Analyst, your skills and experience will ideally include: 

  • University degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field
  • 5+ of experience in credit risk analysis, corporate banking, trade credit insurance, surety, or a comparable field
  • Strong expertise in financial statement analysis, credit assessment methodologies, and risk classification
  • Proven ability to make independent credit decisions and manage complex cases
  • Strong understanding of industry and market dynamics
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
  • Ability to influence decisions and challenge business partners when necessary
  • Good knowledge of MS Office and credit-related systems
  • Very good command of English
  • German language skills are an advantage, but not required

Compensation for roles at Zurich depends on a wide array of factors including but not limited to the specific role, skill set, level of experience, and subject to applicable law. Zurich thus provides a range of compensation aligned to internal job architecture and market benchmarks to ensure fair and consistent pay for comparable roles.

The starting base salary range for this position is 2500 EUR / Gross.
